Store Spotlight: Auntie Em's Resale & Consignment, Tomahawk

Northwoods resale is its own genre: three generations of lake-cabin living funneling through small-town shops, priced by people who aren't thinking about Chicago. Auntie Em's Resale and Consignment on West Wisconsin Avenue in Tomahawk is a fine specimen.

The stock swings the way good consignment does — vintage canes one week, winter coats and Squishmallows the next, household goods always. That range is the point: consignment means the whole town is the supplier, and up here the town's attics run deep.

It's a proper Northwoods traveler's stop, too: summer hours include Sunday mornings (11–2), which matters when every other shop in cabin country is dark. First-time consignors book an appointment — a sign of a shop that takes the supply side seriously.

Open Tuesday through Saturday 10–5, plus those summer Sundays. If you're running Highway 51 north, it pairs with the whole Central Wisconsin route. Full listing and map here.
